Where are your patients coming from? Patient
demographics and referral data can provide focus for marketing efforts.
Decide which set of yellow pages you will advertise in based on where
your patient population lives. Identify the source of your referrals
and drill further to find the types of patients (i.e., payer, diagnosis)
each referring physician sends to your practice. Determine whether
referral patterns have significanltly changed over time. Identify
patients that are initially seen in the ER or inpatient setting.
