Are all physicians in the group performing at optimal levels? Provider
productivity can be assessed using several measures (e.g., RVUs, revenue
generated, new patient volume, etc.). Each set of indicators will
supply a unique perspective into a provider's contribution to the
group practice. For example, a physician with low new patient volume
may have the highest rate of revenue as a result of the intensity
of the treatment he/she provides. In addition, it is essential to
factor in variations among providers capabilities, including differences
based on physician subspecialties and use of physician extenders.
